The application cycle for the 2023-24 Justice40 Accelerator program is now closed. We expect to source our fourth cohort in 2024-25 from our current waitlist. At this time, open applications will resume in 2025 for our fifth cohort scheduled for 2025-26.

Application and Programming Timeline

Every other annual cohort group is selected from an open application process.

Here is the timeline for the 2023-24 Accelerator.

June – August 2023: Applications open

September 2023: Cohort 3 members selected

October 2023: Cohort 3 members announced and Accelerator launch celebration

October 2023 – September 2024: Accelerator programming for Cohort 3

September 2024: Cohort 3 celebration and transition to alumni community

(TBD) Cohort 4 members announced: pending new funding

Featured Cohort Members

  • Eastie Farm is based in Boston and was part of Cohort 2 of the Justice40 Accelerator. They used the technical assistance funds from the program to connect with a consultant to support their grant applications, several of which were awarded!
  • United Parents Against Lead (UPAL) is a national organization and was part of Cohort 2 of the Justice40 Accelerator. UPAl supports a community resiliency hub in Petersburg, Virginia, which has solar energy and battery storage and hosts community events.
  • Blacks in Green (BIG) is based in Chicago and was part of Cohort 1 of the Justice40 Accelerator. In 2023, BIG was one of 17 organizations selected to form Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers, as part of the federal Justice40 Initiative.
